Race Report

RACE-3 IRISH THOROUGHBRED MARKETING CUP RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1500 METRES (93)

1 Happy And Healthy (B Yamzon) –Disappointing. Rider B Yamzon reported that his mount resent being inside other runners and didn’t get a clean run during the race. A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Steward failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 So Sweet (C Perkins) –After jumping away was bumped.
7 Flaming Star (J Cordero) –Raced four wide without cover throughout the event.
8 Vigorous Momentum (W T Pao) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Rider could offer no real excuses for the disappointing performance tonight. A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Steward failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Flying Team (W L Ho) –Leaving the straight on the first occasion, was steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of 9 Classical Music which shifted out slightly. Disappointing performance. Rider reported that his mount resented the kickback. A swab sample was taken from the gelding and post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
11 Chromium Alloy (H Lam) –Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by 10 Flying Team (W L Ho) which shifted out.
12 Winner Best (K K Lai) –Raced wide without cover rounding the first turn. Laid out rounding the home turn. Near the 300 metres was steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of 10 Flying Team (W L Ho) which shifted out slightly.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Leaving the straight on the first occasion 5 Belgrade Nights (R Curatolo) was taken in off its course by 7 Flaming Star (J Cordero) which shifted in when laying in despite the efforts of its rider. 7 Flaming Star then continued to shifted in tightening 11 Chromium Alloy (H Lam) which had to be steadied. 2 Gauteng (A Calder) which was following had to be restrained as a consequence.
