Race Report

RACE-6 THE MILLWALL RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1200 METRES (102)

1 Easy Money (Apprentice Y M Choi) – Raced keenly through the early and middle stages.
2 Lucky Winston (W T Pao) – On jumping away became unbalanced after being bumped by 6 Vigormaster (C F Chan). Raced very keenly near the 800 metres and was steadied when awkwardly place between runners commencing the turn near the 700 metres.
3 Central Station (L Salles) –As the gates opened threw its head up and commenced very awkwardly, losing ground as a result. Raced keenly through the early and middle stages.
5 My Lucky Baby (C F Wong) –When the pace steadied near the 800 metres commenced to race ungenerously and then had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 1 Easy Money (Apprentice Y M Choi) which shifted in when not quite clear . Apprentice Jockey Y M Choi was advised that he must exercise more care when in the similar circumstance in future.
6 Vigormaster (C F Chan) –Dipped on jumping away and was then taken out by 5 My Lucky Baby (C F Wong) and made heavy contact with 2 Lucky Winston (W T Pao). As a result lost ground.
8 Achilles Sword (A Calder) – Raced wide without cover.
9 My Masterpiece (H Lam) –Threw its head in the air when the gates released and lost ground. Raced wide without cover.
12 Mission Well (M Cangas) –Over raced during the early stages and where the pace steadied near the 1100 metres had to restrained and then shifted out wider on the track.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Approaching the 200 metres 2 Lucky Winston (W T Pao) when improving was checked and clipped the heel of 7 Lovely Boy (C Perkins) when disappointed for a run between that gelding which shifted out and 8 Achilles Sword (A Calder). Under all the circumstances and in particular noting that 2 Lucky Winston was behind 7 Lovely Boy when it commenced to shift and had not established a run, Stewards did not believe a charge was warranted on this occasion nevertheless they issued the rider of 7 Lovely Boy C Perkins with a severe reprimand and notified him that he must exercise far more care when in similar circumstance in future.
