Race Report

RACE-2 THE PLYMOUTH RATING 60-30 (CLASS 3&4) 1600 METRES (110)

1 Cali Fortune (H Lam) –Rider H Lam stated that after receiving tightening at the start ,his mount then hung out approaching the 700 metres.
2 Charity Group (L Corrales) –Was marginally slow to begin. Jockey L Corrales was issued with a severe reprimand for failing to ride down to his minimum riding weight.
3 Basement (A Calder) –Had to be steadied leaving the straight on the first occasion when awkwardly placed close to heels.
4 Luen Yat Sure Win (R Curatolo) –Raced wide for the majority of the race without cover. Had a tendency to lay out when struck with the whip in the straight.
6 The Precious Prime (C F Wong) –Approaching the winning post on the first occasion had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 9 King Me which shifted in when barely clear. As a result shifted out slightly and made contact with 5 Luck Of The Dragon and raced tight with that gelding for a number of strides. Jockey J Cordero the rider of 9 King Me was severely reprimanded and advised that he must be fully clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
8 Explosive Blast (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Shifted out on jumping away and brushed 7 Red King.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
On jumping away 1 Cali Fortune (H Lam) was hampered and 6 The Precious Prime (C F Wong) was tightened for room between 5 Luck Of The Dragon (L Salles) and 3 Basement (A Calder) which shifted out abruptly and then had it hindquarters turned, resulting in its rider being unable to relieve the pressure for a number of strides.
