Race Report

RACE-4 THE CALGARY RATING 70+ (CLASS 1) 1050 METRES (203)

3 River Bobo (W L Ho) –Rounding the home turn was taken out off its course by 11 Firedragon Cthulhu which was hanging out.
7 The Whirlwind (W T Pao) –Was extremely difficult to load. Trainer K M Chin was informed that the gelding will be required to perform in a Jump Out before racing again.
8 Central Station (L Salles) –Hung out on the latter part of the home turn.
10 Inventive (K K Lai) –Was slow to begin.
11 Firedragon Cthulhu (C F Wong) –After being placed in the barrier stall became fractious, was removed from its barrier examined by the Vet surgeon and passed fit to run. Hung out badly rounding the home turn. Poor performance. Rider reported that the gelding hung out very badly from the 600 metres and in the straight resulting in him not being able to ride his mount out in his usual manner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer C F Chan was informed that in view of the racing manners of the 11 Firedragon Cthulhu it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a Barrier Trial at which time it must perform tractably.
