Race Report

RACE-2 THE COLOMBIA RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1000 METRES (213)
5 Great Tiger (J Cordero) –Got its head up shortly after the start and then became unbalanced when brushed by 7 River Control.
6 Maggie's Pride (W H Lao) –Raced four wide without cover throughout.
7 River Control (K W Leong) –Was held up from the 500 metres, and approaching the 300 metres was inconvenienced by 11 Only Pearl which shifted out. Thereafter had difficulty obtaining clear running for the remainder of the straight and went to the line not fully tested. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Golden Kalbar (B Yamzon) –Jumped away awkwardly, struck the inside gate, unbalancing its rider and as a result lost ground (1L).
9 I'm Sincere (C Perkins) –Was slow to begin.
10 Iron Alloy (M Cangas) –Shifted out on jumping away and made heavy contact with 12 Chilli Boy which shifted in. Disappointing performance. Rider reported that it was his instructions to lead, however his mount did not have enough speed to do so. For this reason he sat outside the leader and 10 Iron Alloy and did not finish off the race as expected. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A post race swab was taken from the gelding for analysis.
11 Only Pearl (L Corrales) –Raced very keenly for some distance approaching and passing the 600 metres.
12 Chilli Boy (W L Ho) –Shifted in when the gates were released and then became unbalanced after being bumped by 10 Iron Alloy. Rider W L Ho explained that he stopped riding over the final two strides as he was being placed in restricted room. He was advised that he must continue to push his mounts at least hands and heels whenever possible.
