Race Report

RACE-6 THE GENOA RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1050 METRES (272)

1 Happy Cash (A Aucharuz) – Raced very wide without cover throughout.
6 Gunstigmaster (C F Chan) - Rider C F Chan was unable to offer any explanation regarding the gelding’s performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Korean Dream (L Salles) - Rider L Salles was unable to offer any explanation regarding the gelding’s performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Cali Champion (D Chong) –Was marginally slow to begin and then became unbalanced after making contact with 11 Woodney. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in left foreleg. Trainer K C Chong was informed that 8 Cali Champion will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
9 Innoalloy (H Lam) –Hung out under pressure in the home straight. Trainer K S Wong was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding in relation to its racing manners.
10 Inventive (C Perkins) – After passing the 500 metres was steadied for a number of strides when unable to improve its position.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Prior to correct weight Stewards viewed the patrol video to ascertain if there were grounds to lodge an objection on behalf of the connections of the third place getter 2 Harbour Star. After viewing the video Stewards did not proceed and correct weight was declared. It was established approaching the winning post 2 Harbour Star was steadied when taken out off its course by 9 Innoalloy which shifted out whilst being ridden along. H Lam the rider of 9 Innoalloy was severely reprimanded and notified that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances in future.
