Race Report

RACE-2 THE PERM RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1500 METRES (285)

1 Modena Creation (R Curatolo) –Jumped away awkwardly, threw its head up and as a result lost ground.
2 Hand By Hand (B Yamzon) –Laid in in the straight. Rider accidentally dropped his off side rein for a short distance near the 200 metres. Disappointing performance. Rider B Yamzon explained his mount travelled well in the lead until the 600 metres, but failed to respond to his riding thereafter. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Lucky And Strong (C Perkins) –After passing the 200 metres shifted in abruptly resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
4 All Thrills (W Smith) –Raced three wide without cover.
6 Modena Success (A Aucharuz) –Was slow to begin (1L).
7 Pawmaster (W L Ho) –Poor performance. Rider W L Ho reported his mount never travelled at any stage of the race, and as a result he elected to ease it down over the final 200 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S Chow was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 11th June 2016. In addition, as 7 Pawmaster was beaten in excess of 46 lengths it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial prior to racing again.
8 Truly Heart (L Corrales) –Raced four wide without cover.
9 Delight Consul (K K Lai) –Raced five wide without cover from the 700 metres.
10 Sharp Spear (C F Chan) –Rounding the turn near the 1200 metres was bumped on two occasions by 3 Lucky And Strong which was shifting in.
11 Active Power (Y M Choi) -Prior to the event, Trainer W T Lai advised Stewards that he would be instructing the rider to attempt to settle the gelding in a mid field position today in an attempt to finish off the event. Settled just behind the leaders. Raced keenly in the back straight and raced tight with 4 All Thrills between the 900 metres until near the 700 metres.
