Race Report

RACE-1 THE CHANGE THE GRANGE RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1350 METRES (368)

4 River God Choi (K W Leong) –Was marginally slow to begin and was then tightened for room between 8 Great Party and 3 Nata Way both of which shifted ground, and as a result lost ground. Rider reported his whip broke near the 1300 metres and as he was unable to use it, in his opinion this contributed to the gelding being unable to muster speed in the early stages. He added he was then obliged to ride his mount hands and heels for the remainder of the race. Rider K W Leong was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts fully to the line whenever circumstances permit. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Cool Brother (K H Yu) –Trainer J Lau informed Stewards that the gelding will be ridden more conservatively today in an attempt to allow the gelding to finish off the event. Settled in the second to last position, however failed to run on.
6 Lionheart Man (W Smith) –Was marginally slow to begin and was then hampered by 1 Holy Ascension which shifted out abruptly on jumping away. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Approaching the winning post shifted out and brushed 8 Great Party.
