RACE-4 THE GRAND STAND RATING 55-25 (CLASS 4) 1600 METRES (371)

1 Yummy Yummy (K H Yu) –Poor performance. A post raced veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S Chow was informed that the gelding which was beaten in excess of 34 lengths, will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an Official Barrier Trial.
2 My Dream (J Cordero) –Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. When questioned as to the apparent improved performance of the gelding today, Trainer S H Cheong attributed this to the gelding stepping up in distance and the lower class event.
3 Charity Group (W Smith) –Was marginally slow to begin.
7 Vigorous Momentum (B Yamzon) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced very wide without cover. When questioned as to why he elected to come to the outside after passing the 1200 metres when he had the option to take up a position closer to the rail and follow 9 Florence Baby, Jockey B Yamzon explained that he was following the instructions given by Trainer K S Cheong which was to stay wide to avoid any kick back. Trainer K S Cheong confirmed the instructions given and stated that in his opinion, with the rain affected track, 7 Vigorous Momentum would be better suited racing wide where in his opinion the going was superior. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Florence Baby (A Calder) –A post race veterinary examination revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack, Trainer K H Leong was reminded of the standard stand down period and actions.
10 Golden Warrior (K W Leong) –Poor performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer K C Tse was informed that the gelding which was beaten in excess of 34 lengths, will be required to perform satisfactorily in an Official Barrier Trial prior to racing again.
