Race Report

RACE-3 【STAR RIVER．WINDSOR ARCH】CHARITY TROPHY RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (191)

3 Windsor Arch Five (L Corrales) –Near the 200 metres was obliged to shift out around the heels of 9 Capital Protector to obtain clear running.
4 Fortune Master (Apprentice S Meneanen) –Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
5 Lucky Mate (A Calder) –Acting on veterinary advice, that 5 Lucky Mate had sustained an injury to its shoulder, the Stewards order its withdrawal at 3:12 pm. Trainer K H Leong was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
7 Hong Kong Storm (L Salles) –Near the 200 metres was buffeted for a short distance between 12 Lucky And Fortune and 4 Fortune Master which shifted out. Apprentice S Meneanen the rider of 4 Fortune Master was advised to exercise more care and ensure he has more control over his mounts in similar circumstances in future.
10 River Colour (A Aucharuz) –Leaving the 800 metres was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Windsor Arch Five. Near the 500 metres was eased when momentarily placed in restricted room by 7 Hong Kong Storm which shifted in slightly. Near the 250 metres was unable to establish clear running until leaving the 200 metres.
11 Great China (R Maia) – Stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. Trainer K H Leong was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
12 Lucky And Fortune (M Wepner) –Was resaddled behind the barriers. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The “Enquiry” sign was semaphored following the running of the race to afford the Stewards the opportunity to view the official patrol film of the start to establish whether 11 Great China (R Maia) had been afforded a fair start. It was established that as the start was effected 11 Great China stood flat footed and lost significant ground. The Stewards were satisfied that 11 Great China had been afforded a fair start and as such Correct Weight was declared.
