Race Report

RACE-3 THE COIMBATORE RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1500 METRES (203)

1 Contented N Happy (B Yamzon) –On entering the home straight and until the 200 metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Again had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 150 metres until the 50 metres.
3 Ho Sai Lei (A Aucharuz) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Magician Code (A Calder) –Bumped by 12 Priceless Treasure on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout.
5 Double Heaven (R Maia) –Approaching the 1300 metres had to be checked off the heels of 1 Contented N Happy which was taken out when bumped by 9 Go Go Fish which was inclined to lay out. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards were unable to attribute blame to any one rider, no further action was taken. Was held up and unable to establish clear running rounding the home.
7 One From Many (W Smith) –Forced to race wide rounding the first turn and continued to race wide without cover until the 800 metres. Near the 150 metres was brushed by 8 Turquoise Heart.
9 Go Go Fish (W L Ho) –A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Wealthy Treasure (M Wepner) –Rounding the first turn was inclined to hang out forcing 7 One From Many wider on the track. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
12 Priceless Treasure (C F Chan) –Near the 250 metres was inconvenienced by 5 Double Heaven which shifted in under pressure. When questioned regarding his vigor in the home straight, Jockey C F Chan stated that shortly after entering the home straight he was inconvenienced by 5 Double Heaven which shifted in under pressure and as a result was obliged to shift in to avoid that horse’s heels. He added that from the 250 metres until the 100 metres, there was no clear run in front of him, so he elected to ride his mount out hands and heels until the 100 metres where a run presented to the inside of 11 Meaning Strong which had shifted out. He added he then used the whip on two occasions, however near the 50 metres he was again obliged to momentarily stop riding his mount when 3 Ho Sai Lei which was weakening shifted in. He added that once placed under pressure over the final 50 metres 12 Priceless Treasure ran on only fairly. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards noted Jockey C F Chan’s explanations, however advised him that in future, he is to ride all his mounts in a manner which leaves no room for query.
