Race Report

RACE-5 THE FUJIYAMA RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (247)

1 Pacers Bahhare (A Aucharuz) –Rider reported his mount put in a bad stride rounding the home turn and as he had concerns with its action, he then eased his mount out of the race. A post race veterinary failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 6th May 2017.
2 Dutch Interior (W Smith) –Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start shifted out abruptly resulting in 6 Hopefully Tomorrow and 8 Ashkari being crowded for room and losing some ground.
6 Hopefully Tomorrow (H Lam) –Was slow to begin. Shortly after the start was crowded for room by 2 Dutch Interior and lost some ground.
8 Ashkari (W L Ho) –Was slow to begin. Shortly after the start was crowded for room by 2 Dutch Interior and lost some ground. Rounding the home turn shifted out to obtain clear running and brushed 4 Golden Idol. Approaching the 300 metres shifted out resulting in 4 Golden Idol having to be steadied to avoid its heels. Jockey W L Ho the rider of 8 Ashkari was severely reprimanded advised that he would be expected to make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and should he continue to ride in such a manner in future more severe action may be taken. After the race, the rider reported that his saddle slipped to the right side during the run.
