Race Report

RACE-4 FORTUNE CHARITY TROPHY RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1350 METRES (292)

1 Me Whee (O Chavez) -Knuckled on jumping away. Rider reported after his mount knuckled on jumping away he settled further back than anticipated. He added his mount raced fiercely and was then forced to race in the kick back and in his opinion 1 Me Whee resented the kick back and this had a major bearing on the gelding’s poor performance today. The Stewards noted his explanation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that he would be required to present 1 Me Whee to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 30 June 2019.
3 Master Starkiller (L Corrales) -Resaddled behind the barriers. Was slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early stages and near the 1100 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 1 Me Whee. Continued to race fiercely in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure leaving the 200 metres. Rider reported rounding the home turn he considered improving to the outside of 6 Great Wall however as he had a clear run in front of him between 1 Me Whee and 6 Great Wall, he elected to take that run. He added in the early stages of the home straight his mount had a tendency to lay in so in order to keep his mount balanced he rode his mount hands and heels until near the 200 metres where he was able to use the whip however his mount continued to lay in under pressure and was one paced to the finish. After considering all of the evidence the Stewards noted his explanation.
4 Grateful Favors (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Was slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Great Wall (S Ladjadj) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
