Race Report

RACE-4 THE RIPON RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (34)

2 Loxwood (W L Ho) -Near the 450 metres had to be steadied when momentarily racing in restricted room between 6 Nuclear Fusion which when improving to its inside shifted out slightly and 3 Ojala which shifted in. After considering all of the circumstances and whilst the Stewards noted there was a slight shift outwards from 6 Nuclear Fusion, the Stewards nevertheless severely reprimanded Jockey M Tanaka the rider of 3 Ojala and he was advised that in similar circumstances in future he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Tavezbac (C L Cheung) -Was slow to begin. Rider reported that it was not his intention to lead in tonight’s race, however after missing the start and urging his mount along in the early stages and due to the slow tempo he found himself in the lead position which he maintained as 4 Tavezbac was traveling comfortably.
6 Nuclear Fusion (D Barros) -Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with inside barrier partition resulting in Jockey D Barros’s right side stirrup iron breaking and he was placed at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Near the 1200 metres when the pace of the race slowed had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 2 Loxwood.
