Race-2 THE KAT O RATING 60-35 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (303)

2 Destiny's Choice (C L Cheung) -Blundered shortly the start.
3 Still So Cute (J B Hamel) -Rider reported that due to fast tempo of the race, his mount was under pressure and never traveled. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer M C Tam was informed that he would be required to present 3 Still So Cute to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 4 July 2021.
4 Imperial Eagle (W H Lao) -Was brushed by 5 Rivalry on jumping away. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
5 Rivalry (D Barros) -Brushed 4 Imperial Eagle on jumping away.
6 Diamond Moonlight (S Nakano) -Shortly after the start shifted out and brushed 8 Dawson. Rider reported that shortly after the start his left stirrup leather became unbuckled and he was unable to adjust it to its correct position until near the 900 metres.
7 Victory Thunder (B Yamzon) -Approaching the 900 metres when inclined to race fiercely had to be steadied away from the heels of 1 Luen On Prosperity which shifted in. Jockey M Tanaka the rider of 1 Luen On Prosperity was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Near the 500 metres raced up onto the heels of 1 Luen On Prosperity and had to be steadied.
8 Dawson (L Corrales) -Shortly after the start was brushed by 6 Diamond Moonlight.
9 Sport General (K H Yu) -Near the 700 metres shifted out slightly and had to be steadied when racing close to the heels of 2 Destiny's Choice. Was held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight was unable to establish clear running until near the 200 metres.
10 Small Waterfall (F Henrique) -Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Rider reported that he was unable to lead in the early stages as 6 Diamond Moonlight showed superior speed to his outside, therefore, he elected to take a sit behind that runner and allowed it to cross to the lead near the 800 metres. He added that as 6 Diamond Moonlight was crossing to the lead, his mount received kickback from that runner and immediately began to race ungenerously and had a tendency to hang out. He further added thereafter, 10 Small Waterfall continued to race ungenerously and never responded to his riding and in his opinion at this stage of its preparation 10 Small Waterfall may be better suited to races of a lower class. Trainer K S Wong reported that 10 Small Waterfall is a small, lightly raced colt and at its last two starts with the blinkers applied, had become excited prior to the race and had a tendency to race fiercely during the run. He added that for today’s race he elected to remove the blinkers in an attempt to get 10 Small Waterfall to settle in its race and added that 10 Small Waterfall had performed well previously without blinkers. He further added that in his opinion, the colt’s racing manners and today’s class of race contributed to its disappointing performance. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed that he would be required to present 10 Small Waterfall to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 4 July 2021.
