1 Akeli Sword (L Corrales) -Brushed with 2 Manulmperial on jumping away.
2 Manulmperial (K H Yu) -Brushed with 1 Akeli Sword on jumping away. Leaving the 1200 shifted out when racing greenly and brushed 6 Ventures Elite.
3 Danish Star (F Henrique) -Rounding the home turn had to be eased when taken outwards by 4 Bring Me Power which shifted out abruptly when not fully clear. Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 4 Bring Me Power was issued with a severe reprimand and was advised that he is to ensure he is fully clear of runners when shifting ground. Leaving the 300 metres was then shifted to the outside of 5 Trophy Cabinet to obtain clear running.
4 Bring Me Power (C L Cheung) -The Stewards questioned Jockey C L Cheung with regards to his riding of 4 Bring Me Power rounding the home turn where he elected to shift his mount outwards instead of improving to the inside of 2 Manulmperial where there was clear running available to him. He stated he was instructed from barrier 1, to jump well and take up a handy position, however as his mount does not appreciate racing to the inside of runners, to try and establish running to the outside of runners and rounding the home turn to take his mount to the outside. He added it was not his intention to lead, however his mount jumped well and as a result he was left in the lead position in the early stages and racing down the back straight, he attempted to shift wider on the track, however as 2 Manulmperial and 6 Ventures Elite were positioned to his outside, he was unable to do so. He further added that rounding the home turn, he momentarily eased his mount and shifted it out to comply with his instructions, however after being shifted out 4 Bring Me Power then did not respond to his riding and did not finish its race off. After considering all of the circumstances, whilst the Stewards noted Jockey C L Cheung’s explanation, he was advised the better option was to take the run to the inside of 2 Manulmperial as opposed to shifting out. However, he was nevertheless reminded of his obligations to ride all his mounts in such a manner as to leave no room for query.
6 Ventures Elite (M Tanaka) -For some distance after the start was inclined to lay in. Leaving the 1200 metres was brushed by 2 Manulmperial which when inclined to race greenly, shifted out.
7 Go Fish Go (T Appie) -Jumped away awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
