Race Report

RACE-3 THE BOURKE RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (250)

1 Diamond Rivers (S Nakano) - Raced wide without cover.
3 Joyful Rainbow (Apprentice A Liu) - Shifted in abruptly at the start, unbalancing its rider. Approaching the 700 metres, was hampered. (See inquiry report)
6 Brother Lian'An (K H Yu) - Was reluctant to proceed to the barrier, resulting in a lengthy delay to the start of the race. Trainer C W Choi was informed that 6 Brother Lian'An will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial at which time it must be ridden to the barriers in a timely manner.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident approaching the 700 metres. It was established that 3 Joyful Rainbow was hampered when momentarily tightened for room by 2 Nozi Cyclone which shifted in marginally before shifting back out. C Perkins, rider of 3 Joyful Rainbow, was severely reprimanded and notified that he must ensure that he leaves room for runners to his inside particularly when commencing turns.
