Race Report

RACE-1 THE CASTERDON RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1500 METRES (248)

1 Ngwah Sweetheart (M Alvarez) - For some distance after passing the 800 metres, had to be steadied when close to heels of 5 Esteeming.
3 Famous Anson (I Poullis) - Slow into stride (1L). Hampered and taken wider near the 900 metres. (See inquiry report)
4 Golden Wai (S H Huang) - After jumping away, shifted in marginally and was then inconvenienced by 6 City Gold Master which shifted out slightly. As a result lost ground.
7 Twin Cam (K H Yu) - After passing the 1000 metres had to be heavily restrained after improving close to heels of 1 Ngwah Sweetheart.
8 Ocean Warrior (K F Choi) - Rolled out when under pressure approaching the 100 metres and brushed 7 Twin Cam, then had to be steadied when tightened for room between 7 Twin Cam and 6 City Gold Master (C Perkins) which shifted out. C Perkins was reprimanded and notified that he must stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Steward inquired into an incident after passing the 900 metres. It was established that 3 Famous Anson was hampered and taken wider by 9 Top Mountain Hero (C L Cheung) which, after being taken out slightly by 7 Twin Cam, then shifted out to improve its position. C L Cheung was severely reprimanded and notified that although Stewards understand that he may have wished to edge 3 Famous Anson wider in order to improve, he must not continue to force horses out off their course when it is evident the rider wishes to hold his line.
