3 Monsignor (M Tanaka) - Returned to scale having cast its right front plate.
4 Master Hunter (S Nakano) - Rider S Nakano was fined HKD 1,000 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
5 Sheng Tong Viva (L Corrales) - Raced keenly for some distance passing the 1400 metres.
6 Owner Alliance (W H Lao) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Aeras (R Curatolo) - Raced three wide without cover for the majority.
8 Revue (M Alvarez) - Making the crossing near the 1350 metres, improved close to the heels of 14 City Gold Mars and rolled in, tightening the running of 11 Sheng Li Bao. Then shifted out abruptly when being corrected by its rider.
10 Brother Lian’an (A Calder) - Made heavy contact with the side of the barrier stall on jumping and was then restrained and shifted behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail.
11 Sheng Li Bao (C L Cheung) - Making the crossing near the 1350 metres, struck the running rail when momentarily placed in restricted room to the inside of 8 Revue.
12 Famous Anson (A Da Silva) - Was marginally slow to begin and was then shifted behind runners to obtain a position on the rail.
14 City Gold Mars (Apprentice A Liu) - Struck the side of the barrier stall when the gates were released, unbalancing the rider. Approaching the 1300 metres, had to be restrained and shifted out to avoid heels.
RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident approaching the 1300 meters. L Corrales, rider of 5 Sheng Tong Viva was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule of Racing 132(i) in that approaching the 1300 metres, he permitted his mount to shift in when not fully clear of 14 City Gold Mars, resulting in that horse having to be restrained and shifted outwards to avoid heels. L Corrales had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 race day covering the meeting of Saturday, 30 July 2023 and fined the sum of HKD 7,000. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account the degree of carelessness and interference, and his good riding record. He was advised of his rights of appeal.
