Race Report

RACE-5 THE QUIRINDI (Div. 1) RATING 45-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1200 METRES (5)

1 Good World (K H Yu) - On jumping away was brushed by 10 Super Ecstatic and became slightly unbalanced. Near the 700 metres, was tightened for room and checked. (See inquiry report). When questioned as to why he commenced to ease his mount from the 100 metres, rider stated his mount was dipping and was uncomfortable in its action. Trainer W L Ho was informed that he would be required to present 1 Good World to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 30 September 2023.
4 Half Lamma Rainbow (R Maia) - Had a tendency to shift out under pressure inside the 50 metres.
9 Carry On For Ages (K F Choi) - Had to be restrained when awkwardly placed close to heels near the 700 metres. (See inquiry report)
10 Super Ecstatic (W H Lao) - Tailed the field throughout the event. Rider stated his mount was not travelling well throughout the event and felt unbalanced. He would recommend that 10 Super Ecstatic be tried on sand track. Beaten in excess of 50 lengths. Trainer Y C Fung was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. The trainer was also informed that he would be required to present 10 Super Ecstatic to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 30 September 2023.
11 Chow Chow (Apprentice Tesuri) - Inside the 100 metres shifted out when struck with the whip. Apprentice Tesuri will be notified that he must stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances in the future.
12 Happy Whole Life (M Alvarez) - Passing the 200 metres was momentarily steadied when 3 Iu Cheong Master shifted in when not quite clear.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 700 metres. It was established that when the pace steadied, 9 Carry On For Ages which was racing on the fence had to be restrained from heels of 7 Heat of the Battle, and when being restrained shifted out slightly, placing 1 Good World, which was close to heels of 12 Happy Whole Life and racing tight to the inside of 3 Iu Cheong Master, in restricted room. As a result 1 Good World had to be checked. Stewards deemed this to be a racing incident and no action was taken against any rider.
