RACE-5 THE MILDURA RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1510 METRES (25)

1 Sunrise Eagle (L Corrales) - Reared slightly as the gates were released and lost ground. From approaching the 400 metres until near the 300 metres, was held up when unable to improve its position.
2 Top Mountainlegend (C L Cheung) - From its wide barrier, was eased at the start and shifted behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail.
6 Freetowon (K H Yu) - Hung out rounding the first turn.
8 West Garden (W H Lao) - Was unable to maintain contact with the field despite the urgings of its rider and became tailed off before being eased down in the straight. Rider stated his mount felt unbalanced throughout the event and made an unusual respiratory noise. Trainer J Lau was informed that he would be required to present 8 West Garden to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination and endoscopic examination on Sunday, 29 October 2023. The trainer was also informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality
9 TopMountain King (S H Huang) - Hung out rounding the first turn.
10 Pay Me (S Nakano) - Unplaced favorite. Rider could offer no excuses for today’s performance.
