RACE-2 THE MALLOW (Div.2) RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1500 METRES (37)

1 Beauty Life (M Tanaka) - Was tightened for room, had to be restrained and lost its position around the 1250 metres. (See inquiry report)
2 City Gold Planet (C L Cheung) - Failed to muster early speed and lost ground.
6 Lucky Chariot (Apprentice X C Liang) - Performed below market expectations. Rider could offer no real excuses for today’s performance.
7 Silent Hero (C Perkins) - Was tightened for room, lost his rightful running and had to be checked after passing the 1200 metres. (See inquiry report)
11 Hostwin Emperor (Apprenice Tesuri) - Approaching the 200 metres was inconvenienced by 7 Silent Hero which shifted in when not quite clear.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Stewards inquired into an incident rounding the turn and into the back straight. Apprentice Tesuri, represented by Trainer W K Lam, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132(i). The careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift in around the 1250 metres when not clear of 7 Silent Hero thereby taking that gelding in, resulting in 1 Beauty Life, which was racing to the inside of 7 Silent Hero, being restrained and losing its position; and then continuing to shift in, resulting in 7 Silent Hero being tightened for room, losing his rightful running and having to be checked after passing the 1200 metres. Apprentice Tesuri had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race days, covering the racemeetings of Saturday 2 December and Saturday 9 December 2023, and fined the sum of HKD 3000. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account the level of carelessness and interference, Apprentice Tesuri’s careless riding record and the guilty plea. He was advised of his rights of appeal.
