Race Report

RACE-1 THE KYOTO 2&3-YEAR-OLD (RATING 55-0) 1050 METRES (231)

2 Bunce (W L Ho) – Prior to “Correct Weight”, Jockey W L Ho the rider of 2 Bunce viewed the video patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection against 6 Prosperity Star (R Curatolo). The Stewards agreed that there was insufficient grounds for an objection and “Correct Weight” was declared.
Passing the 400 metres had to be shifted out to avoid the heels of 5 Chok King.
3 Wealthy East (W Smith) –Performed below market expectations. Rider W Smith explained that his horse travelled well in the lead until the 600 metres when he felt it became unbalanced behind and from that point the gelding commenced to lose momentum and had a tendency to lay in in the straight. Trainer S Chow was informed that he would be required to present 3 Wealthy East to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 23 April 2016.
5 Chok King (L Salles) –From after passing the 500 metres was held up when unable to improve its position and at the 400 metres improved up onto the heels of 1 Cheerful Fish and had to be checked of that colt’s heels.
6 Prosperity Star (R Curatolo) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
9 God Get People (J Cordero) –Commenced awkwardly and was slow to muster speed. For some distance after passing the 800 metres was placed in restricted room between 2 Bunce and 6 Prosperity Star which was taken inwards by 1 Cheerful Fish, which was being ridden along. Jockey C F Wong the rider of by 1 Cheerful Fish was severely reprimanded and informed that he must ensure he is fully clear of other runners when shifting ground in future. Inconvenienced after passing the 400 metres.
