Race Report

RACE-4 THE CHENGDU RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1350 METRES (221)

1 Yummy Yummy (R Curatolo) – Jumped very awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with 7 Hopefully Tomorrow and as a result became unbalanced.
3 Flaming Star (M Cangas) – Was eased down in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was severely in lame the left foreleg. Trainers C Marshall/K C Wong were informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has passed an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produce.
4 Sharon Star (C F Wong) –Raced five wide without cover throughout. Rider C F Wong was fined the sum of HK$1000 for accidently dropping his whip near the 300 metres.
5 Woodney (A Calder) – Trainer P Leyshan advised he would be instructing the rider to attempt to settle the gelding more forward today. Settled behind the leaders.
7 Hopefully Tomorrow (W H Lao) –Shortly after the start had to be checked off the heels of 6 Holy Ascension which was taken in by 4 Sharon Star which shifted in when laying in.
9 Cali Fortune (H Lam) –Raced wide before obtaining a position one off the fence near the 600 metres.
10 Vancouver Jaguar (W L Ho) – Disappointing performance. Rider reported that his mount traveled well early in a forward position, however at the 600 metres was a beaten horse. He could offer no real explanation for the performance today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significantly.
11 Gold Selection (C F Chan) –After being placed in the barrier stall, reared and as a result dislodged its rider who was stood down after being examined by the Club’s Medical Officer as he was suffering an injury to his back. 11 Gold Selection was a late withdrawal at 3:45pm.
