2 Duke Da Vega (C L Cheung) -Raced fiercely in the early stages and raced wide without cover until near the 800 metres.
3 Lover Paradise (K H Yu) - Leaving 1200 metres, when being restrained, raced fiercely with its head in the air and proved difficult to settle. Leaving the 1000 metres was bumped heavily by 12 Red Phoenix and was unbalanced for a short distance. Near the 500 metres had to be steadied when racing ungenerously on the heels of 11 Eclair Hunter. On entering the home straight was disappointed for a run between 11 Eclair Hunter and 1 Pearl Green. Was then obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.
4 Bring Me Speed (C F Chan) - Leaving the 1200 metres when the pace of the race slowed, raced fiercely for some distance and had to be checked. Continued to race fiercely for some distance thereafter.
5 Fortune Treasure (S Nakano) - Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Leaving 1100 metres was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 12 Red Phoenix which shifted in.
6 Royal Garden (L Corrales) - Raced wide without cover leaving the 800 metres. Hung out rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Krystrump (F Henrique) - When the pace of the race slowed leaving the 1200 metres, raced fiercely for a short distance. Was held up in the early stages of the home straight. Leaving the 50 metres was checked.
8 Luen On Dance Kid (O Chavez) - When the pace of the race slowed leaving the 1200 metres had to be severely checked. Continued to race ungenerously for some distance thereafter.
9 Oriental Profit (W H Lao) - Leaving the 1200 metres when the pace of the race slowed, raced fiercely for some distance and had to be checked. Continued to race fiercely for some distance thereafter. Raced wide without cover leaving the 800 metres.
10 Eclair Sunshine (Y M Choi) - Was slow to begin. Leaving the 1000 metres raced fiercely and was allowed to stride forward wider on the track to take the lead position near the 700 metres. Leaving the 50 metres shifted out under pressure.
11 Eclair Hunter (T Appie) - Raced wide without cover until leaving the 1000 metres.
12 Red Phoenix (H Lam) - Was slow to begin. When the pace of the race slowed leaving the 1200 metres was hampered. Leaving the 1000 metres had to be checked. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into a racing incident leaving the 1200 metres where 8 Luen On Dance Kid had to be severely checked and a number of runners being inconvenienced. Evidence was taken from the riders of 3 Lover Paradise (K H Yu), 8 Luen On Dance Kid (O Chavez) and 12 Red Phoenix (H Lam). Jockey K H Yu pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132(i) in that for some distance leaving the 1200 metres, after obtaining the lead, he excessively slowed the pace of the race resulting in 8 Luen On Dance Kid having to be severely checked to avoid the heels of 3 Lover Paradise and shifted out hampering 12 Red Phoenix. 4 Bring Me Speed and 9 Oriental Profit, which were following, both raced ungenerously and had to be checked in consequence. Jockey K H Yu’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 racemeetings, covering the meetings of 22nd and 29th February 2020. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, the degree of interference, his riding record and the racing manners of his horse at the point of the incident. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Pearl Green (J B Hamel), 3 Lover Paradise (K H Yu), 11 Eclair Hunter (T Appie) and 12 Red Phoenix (H Lam). Jockey T Appie pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132(i) in that leaving the 1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 1 Pearl Green (J B Hamel) which was taken in onto 12 Red Phoenix which had to be checked and shifted in bumping heavily with 3 Lover Paradise. Jockey T Appie’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 racemeetings, covering the meetings of 1st and 7th February 2020. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, the degree of interference, his riding record and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
The Stewards inquired into a racing incident near 50 metres where 7 Krystrump had to be checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 7 Krystrump (F Henrique) and 10 Eclair Sunshine (Y M Choi). Jockey Y M Choi pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132(i) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent 10 Eclair Sunshine from shifting out when insufficiently clear of 7 Krystrump which had to be checked. Jockey Y M Choi’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 racemeetings, covering the meetings of 7th, 9th and 15th February 2020. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, the degree of interference, his riding record and the racing manners of his horse at the point of the incident. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
