Race Report

RACE-1 THE VISEAU RATING 40-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1200 METRES (302)

1 Express Pony (D Barros) -Was resaddled behind the barriers. On entering the home straight was momentarily held up and unable to improve to the inside of 8 Pursuing Eagle. Rider reported that upon inspection after the race, his mount has cast its right fore plate.
2 City Gold (Apprentice C L Cheung) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Cherry Road (L Corrales) -Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn.
4 Ventures Elite (M Tanaka) -Hung in on jumping away and had to be corrected by its rider. Raced wide without cover until near the 500 metres.
5 First Right (W H Lao) -Leaving the 200 metres was obliged to shift outwards and away from the heels of 7 Pride Mountain which shifted out under pressure before being corrected by its rider. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Rayson Warrior (W L Ho) -Was slow to begin.
7 Pride Mountain (H Lam) -Hung out abruptly on jumping away. Trainer W Smith was informed that a warning had been placed against the gelding with regards to its racing manners. Leaving the 200 metres had a tendency to shift out under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
8 Pursuing Eagle (F Henrique) -Raced fiercely in the early stages.
9 Sport General (K H Yu) -Was steadied shortly after the start between 4 Ventures Elite which hung in and 7 Pride Mountain which hung out.
