Race Report

RACE-1 THE TSIMSHATSUI RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (73)
This race was rescheduled to start at 8:10pm.

1 Glory Spirit (W T Pao) –Disappointing. Rider reported that his mount is somewhat inexperienced and should improve with the run. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Start It Now (R Stewart) –Threw its head in the air when the gates were released and lost some ground.
3 Truly Heart (R Curatolo) –Raced keenly during the early stages. Performed below market expectations. Rider explained that his mount was not suited by the 132lbs that it carried this evening. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Active Power (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Was very slow to begin. Performed below market expectations. Rider could offer no real excuses for his mount’s performance this evening other than it may have resented the kickback. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Golden Lion (L Corrales) –Was extremely difficult to load. Trainer K S Wong was informed that a warning has been placed on the gelding and should it perform in a similar manner in future further action may be taken. Reared after the gates were released losing significant ground (4L).
7 Smart Ebony (W L Ho) – Laid in for the majority of the race and after passing the 100 metres had to be steadied when laying in across the heels of 9 Delight Consul.
8 Big Success (K W Leong) –Disappointing. Rider reported that his mount resented the kickback and failed to respond to his urgings. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Delight Consul (C F Wong) –Raced wide rounding the first turn and then raced four wide without cover. Over raced during the early and middle stages.
10 Kao's Star (D Chong) –Struck the inside gate on jumping away. Poor performance. Rider reported that his mount failed to stride out tonight and was well beaten. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S Chow was informed that the horse, which was beaten in excess of 57 lengths, will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed competitively in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
