Race Report

RACE-1 THE SHAOXING RATING 55-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1050 METRES (182)

2 Bunce (W L Ho) – Had difficulty obtaining a run from the entrance to the straight, and then when attempting a run where there was no room clipped the heels of 4 Rider Navigator (W T Pao) after passing the 300 metres. Jockey W L Ho was severely reprimanded and notified that he must ensure that he has clear running when attempting to improve his position at all times.
5 Chok King (C Perkins) – After being placed in its barrier stall reared and became cast, resulting in all runners having to be removed from the stalls. This resulted in a significant delay to the start of the race. Acting on the advice of the Veterinary Surgeon who stated that the gelding was unfit to run Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 7:08pm. Trainer K H Leong was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial prior to racing again.
6 Fantastic Destiny (H Lam) – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
7 Winner Fortune (Y M Choi) – Rider Y M Choi was injured when struck by 5 Chok King (C Perkins) which was in the adjacent stall as it became cast in the barrier. Jockey Y M Choi was examined by the Medical Official and was deemed unfit to fufil his engagement on the gelding. 7 Winner Fortune was withdrawn by order of Stewards at 7:10pm. Jockey Y M Choi was subsequently reexamined by the Club’s Medical Officer and deemed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements tonight.
9 Rio Party (W H Lao) – On jumping away was hampered by 2 Bunce (W L Ho) which shifted out before being straightened by its rider. As a result lost ground.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
After approaching the 800 metres 9 Rio Party (W H Lao) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 2 Bunce (W L Ho) which shifted out when attempting to improve its position between 4 Rider Navigator (W T Pao) and 10 Lucky And Fortune. Jockey W L Ho was reprimanded and notified that he must exercise far more care when in similar circumstance in the future.
