Race Report

RACE-2 THE QIQIHAR RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1350 METRES (183)
1 Correio (A Calder) – On jumping away was hampered when tightened for room between 10 Win Perfectly (K K Lai) and 4 Vancouver Jaguar (W L Ho) which shifted in. Raced four wide before obtaining cover passing the 600 metres.
2 Rivers Elite (A Aucharuz) – Before the running of the race Trainer S H Cheong notified the Stewards that the gelding would be ridden more forward to take advantage of the inside gate. Was slow to muster speed and settle behind the leaders.
4 Vancouver Jaguar (W L Ho) – Raced keenly in the back straight.
5 Golden Fifty Six (O Doleuze) – A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Stewards revealed that the gelding was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer K C Tse was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
6 Vowed To Run (L Corrales) – Was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon on arrival at the barriers and passed fit to run.
8 I'M Sincere (M Cangas) – Bounded in the air when the gates were released and lost ground.
11 Modena Creation (C Perkins) – Was slow to begin and then shifted out abruptly unbalancing its rider. Then got its head up and failed to stretch out for some distance. Trainer C Marshall was notified that the gelding must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a jump out prior to racing again. Disappointing performance. The rider reported that after missing the start, the gelding could not muster sufficient speed and trailed the field throughout. A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Stewards failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT:
Shortly after the start 12 Liver Pool (C F Chan), 5 Golden Fifty Six (O Doleuze) and 13 Hand By Hand (B Yamzon) were all hampered when tightened for room between 6 Vowed To Run (L Corrales) and 10 Win Perfectly (K K Lai) both of which shifted ground.
