Race Report
RACE-2 THE NAGPUR RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1500 METRES (274)

Golden Harbour (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Raced four wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding in particular the reasons for racing excessively wide down the back straight, Apprentice K Y Wong explained that he was instructed to be positive out of the barriers and attempt to obtain a more forward position. He added that he was unable to muster early speed and rounding the first turn when the pace slowed, he elected to shift wider on the track in attempt to then improve. He further added that despite his urgings his mount was unable to improve his position and he was then caught racing wide without cover. The Stewards advised Apprentice Wong that his ride lacked judgment and that when he was unable to obtain a forward position it would have been in the best interest of his mount for him to restrain and obtain a position closer to the rail with cover, which may have then allowed his mount to finish off the event.
Lucky And Strong (C Perkins) –Bounded in the air when the gates were released and shortly after was bumped by 1 Cargo Money which shifted out. As a result became unbalanced. After passing the 1300 metres was steadied when awkwardly placed between runners. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that his mount did not handle today’s track condition. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
God Get People (L Salles) –Disappointing performance. Rider reported that his mount did not handle today’s track condition. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
Hand By Hand (M Cangas) –Raced very keenly in the early and middle stages.
Liver Pool (K H Yu) –At the turn near the 1300 became unbalanced when brushed by 3 God Get People which shifted out slightly. Held up for some distance rounding the home turn when unable to obtain a clear run.
Big Success (R Curatolo) –Was marginally slow to begin. Disappointing performance. Rider reported that the gelding was having its first start from a short spell since March 2016 and in his opinion his mount did not handle today’s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken for analysis.
Rockin Laser (A Calder) –Was caught three wide without cover.
Cargo Money (B Yamzon) –When the gates were released, stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Trainer K H Leong was advised that the horse must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a Jump Out prior to racing again. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
