Race Report

RACE-1 THE HUNTINGDON RATING 55-0 (SPECIAL) 1500 METRES (374)

1 Beauty Of Victory (A Aucharuz) –Was held up for a considerable distance approaching and passing the 400 metres. Passing the 300 metres was disappointed for a run to the inside of 6 Rosary Diamond before being shifted outwards to obtain clear running. Hung out in the straight when under pressure.
2 Vancouver Jaguar (B Yamzon) –Had to be steadied rounding the turn near the 1200 metres when placed in restricted room between 1 Beauty Of Victory and 7 Accelera which was taken inwards by 5 Bowl Lucky which shifted in slightly. Jockey A Calder the rider of 5 Bowl Lucky was notified that he must be fully clear when shifting ground at all times. Laid out when under pressure in the straight.
3 General's Steed (K H Yu) –Dipped in the going after passing the 800 metres. Approaching the winning post rider K H Yu accidentally lost the use of his right rein for a short distance.
4 Clown Master (C F Chan) –Trainer J Lau informed the Stewards that 4 Clown Master will be ridden further back in an endeavour to allow the gelding to finish off its race. Settled in a second to last position.
7 Accelera (W H Lao) –After passing the 1200 metres had to be restrained to avoid the heels of 5 Bowl Lucky which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey A Calder the rider of 5 Bowl Lucky was notified that he must make a far greater effort to keep his mount straight. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that his mount raced like a tired horse. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Big Success (J Cordero) –Jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and had to be steadied when close to the heels of 1 Beauty Of Victory.
