Race Report

RACE-2 THE STOCKPORT RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1510 METRES (110)

1 Road To Victory (L Salles) –Leaving the 100 metres was brushed and momentarily inconvenienced by 3 Destney which hung out under pressure.
3 Destney (L Corrales) –Jumped awkwardly.
6 Impeccable Genius (C F Chan) –Raced wide rounding the home turn.
8 Gold Selection (W Smith) – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Smart Ebony (A Aucharuz) –Raced wide without cover throughout.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to allow the Stewards to review the official patrol video of the final 100 metres. However immediately on returning to scale, Jockey L Salles the rider of 1 Road To Victory which was placed 2nd by the Judge lodged an objection against 3 Destney (L Corrales) being declared the winner alleging interference leaving the 100 metres. It was established that leaving the 100 metres 3 Destney hung out under pressure and brushed 1 Road To Victory which was momentarily inconvenienced. After considering all the circumstances, in particular the degree of the interference and the beaten margin of three quarters of a length, the Stewards could not be satisfied that had the interference not taken place 1 Road To Victory would have beaten 3 Destney to the finish line and therefore dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placing.
