RACE-2 THE STORMING FORCE RATING 55-25 (CLASS 4) 1800 METRES (305)

1 Win Fortune (Apprentice K Leung) - Jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped 11 Special Steel.
2 Wyoming (O Chavez) - Was slow to muster speed. At the 700 metre turn bumped 12 Fort Idaho. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Schilleraine (R Maia) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance of 5 Schilleraine, Trainer K S Wong was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the performance today, but said that the gelding was having its first race start for him and hadn’t perform as well as he would have expected.
9 Iced Jade (B Yamzon) - Over raced in the early and middle stages.
10 Happy Encore (Y M Choi) - Was slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
11 Special Steel (H Lam) - Was bumped by 1 Win Fortune at the start. At the 1300 metres, pulled hard and Jockey H Lam’s saddle slipped forward, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
12 Fort Idaho (Apprentice C L Cheung) - Was slow into stride. At the 700 metre turn was bumped by 2 Wyoming and became unbalanced.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Acting on a report from the Clerk of Sales Mr. H Lei, the Stewards conducted an inquiry. It was established that following weighing in Jockey H Lam the rider of 11 Special Steel was seen to have dropped piece of lead and when directed by the Clerk of Sales to pick the lead up, he refused to do so. Jockey H Lam pleaded guilty to a charge under MJC Rule 14 (xvii) (a) for negligence, in that he failed to obey the directions of an official. He was issued with a fine of HK$3,000. Jockey H Lam pleaded guilty to a charge under MJC Rule 14 (xvii) (a) for negligence, for failing to include the lead in his gear at the time of weighing in. He was issued with a fine of
HK$3,000. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
