RACE-7 JAI ALAI HOTEL CUP (Sand Mile Group 3 Open) (GROUP 3) RATING O 1600 METRES (175)

1 The Whirlwind (R Maia) -Approaching to the winning post on the first occasion was steadied when momentarily tightened for room between 5 Wichita Linesman which shifted out slightly and 4 Oriental Profit which had a tendency to lay in and away from 6 Denzil's Choice. After considering all of the circumstances the stewards took no further action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer K M Chin was informed that 1 The Whirlwind will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
2 Kelowna Star (S de Sousa) -Jumped awkwardly.
3 Advance Mission (W Smith) -Was slow to begin.
5 Wichita Linesman (Apprentice C L Cheung) - Was held up rounding the home turn and was unable to establish clear running until near the 200 metres.
7 Mujaan (W L Ho) -Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide without cover until leaving the 800 metres where it improved to a position outside of the leader 6 Denzil's Choice.
8 Royal Garden (M Nunes) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 River Treasure (F Henrique) -Near the 1500 metres rider lost the use of his right stirrup iron for a short distance. Raced wide without cover throughout.
