Race Report

RACE-4 THE NINGBO RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1500 METRES (138)

1 Farson (S Nakano)- Had a tendency to shift out under pressure in the home straight. Trainer Pat Lee was informed to present 1 Farson to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Monday, 13 January 2020.
3 Brilliant Debbie (J B Hamel) -Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was slightly lame in the left foreleg. Trainers K C Tse and K S Ho were informed that 3 Brilliant Debbie will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
5 Big Alloy (L Corrales) -Near the 200 metres was inconvenienced and forced wider on the track by 6 Eclair Hunter which shifted out under pressure. Jockey O Chavez the rider of 6 Eclair Hunter was advised that in similar circumstances in future he is to correct his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
7 Sixth Sense (S Ladjadj) -Was slow to begin.
8 Fortune Generation (W H Lao) -Checked near the 50 metres.
9 River Treasure (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Hung out rounding the home turn.
10 Lucky Winston (C F Chan) -Was slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 50 metres where 8 Fortune Generation had to be checked. Evidence was taken from 8 Fortune Generation (W H Lao), 7 Sixth Sense (S Ladjadj) and 1 Farson (S Nakano). Jockey S Nakano the rider of 1 Farson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the 100 metres he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out under pressure until near the 50 metres where 7 Sixth Sense was taken out onto 8 Fortune Generation which had to be checked. Jockey S Nakano’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 racemeetings covering the meetings of Saturday, 21 and Saturday, 28 March and Friday, 3 April 2020. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his poor riding record, the degree of the interference and the racing manners of his mount in the home straight. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
