Race Report

RACE-2 THE MELBOURNE RATING 60-35 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (113)

1 Half Lamma Boss (W H Lao) -Was slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the middle stages.
3 Guillocharm (S Ladjadj) -Jumped away awkwardly and bumped by 10 Imperial Eagle which shifted out slightly resulting in Jockey S Ladjadj losing the use of his right side stirrup iron for a short distance. Rider reported that after losing the use of his right stirrup iron, he was disadvantaged for a short distance after the start and as such 3 Guillocharm settled further back than he had anticipated. He further added that the gelding had a tendency to over race throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Silent Height (D Barros) -Was held up on entering the home straight until near the 200 metres.
5 You And You Alone (C L Cheung) -Shifted out on jumping away and continued to shift out for some distance after the start. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that a warning had been issued against 5 You And You Alone in relation to its racing manners.
6 Blue Glory (H Lam) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
10 Imperial Eagle (F Henrique) -Shifted out on jumping away and bumped 3 Guillocharm. Was held up in the early stages of the home straight and leaving the 300 metres was obliged to shift to the outside of 6 Blue Glory to obtain clear running.
12 Premier Choice (K H Yu) -Was resaddled behind the barriers. Near the 1000 metres when being eased got its head up and shifted out of its own accord across the heels of 4 Silent Height which was initially taken in slightly by 9 Pursuing Eagle which shifted in. After considering all of the circumstances and in particular the racing manners of 12 Premier Choice when being eased, the Stewards took no further action, other than to advise Jockey W L Ho the rider of 9 Pursuing Eagle to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. For some distance leaving the 800 metres raced ungenerously with its head up. Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Blundered near the 150 metres.
