RACE-2 THE HIBISCUS RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1350 METRES (8)

2 Gem Lucky Star (Apprentice Y M Choi) – Got its head up and raced ungenerously at the turn near the 1200 metres.
3 Tiger Exceed (R Curatolo) – Slow to muster speed.
4 Lionheart Man (H Lam) – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
5 My Lovely Faye (W Smith) – Performed below market expectations; The rider reported his mount resented the kick back and did not respond to his riding from the 800 metres.
7 My Dream Come True (B Yamzon) – Poor performance; The rider reported his mount resented the kick back. A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
8 Sandy Beach (K W Leong) – Was slow to begin; Disappointing performance. The rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
10 Smart Ebony (C F Chan) – Raced wide without cover; Was marginally slowed to begin and was then brushed by 4 Lionheart Man (H Lam).

11 Delight Consul (C F Wong)- Rider was questioned as to why 11 Delight Consul was ridden forward tonight when it had been settling towards the rear of the field. C F Wong explained that his instructions were consistent with that of previous starts, that is to obtain a forward position, however the gelding does have a habit of missing the start and for this reason had settled further back than anticipated in previous runs.

8 Sandy Beach (K W Leong) - A post race veterinary examination of 8 Sandy Beach of which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
