Race Report

RACE-6 THE CAMELLIA RATING 95-70 (CLASS 1&2) 1350 METRES (12)

3 Korean Dream (W Smith) –Raced three wide without cover throughout.
5 Easy Money (K H Yu) –When the gates were release shifted in abruptly and made contact with 11 Best Of Luck which became unbalanced.
9 Power Regimental (B Yamzon) –Failed to muster speed during the early and middle stages despite the urgings of his rider; Rider explained that after being slightly slow to begin he then steadied when tightened for room between 4 Advance Mission and 12 Hostwin Almighty and lost some ground. He added he urged his mount along during the early and middle stages however it did not pick up the bit and the gelding hung out rounding the home turn proving somewhat difficult to ride before running on well in the home straight when placed under pressure.
12 Hostwin Almighty (R Stewart) –Checked near the 600 metres;

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey R Curatolo the rider of 2 Golden Idol pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that approaching the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently of clear of 12 Hostwin Almighty (R Stewart) which lost its rightful running and had to be checked. Jockey R Curatolo’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of two racemeetings covering the meetings of 11th and 17th October 2015. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account the degree of the interference to be in the medium range, his guilty plea and his record. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

VETERINARY:
12 Hostwin Almighty (R Stewart) –A post race veterinary examination of 12 Hostwin Almighty failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
