Race Report

RACE-3 THE DAFFODIL RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (9)

1 Hand By Hand (C F Wong) – Raced three wide without cover before obtaining a position closer to the rail passing the 600 metres; Laid in the straight under pressure.
4 Final Impression (C F Chan) – Raced wide throughout; Poor performance; The rider reported that his mount did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
5 Aberdeen (A Calder) – Was slow to begin (1L).
6 The Precious Prime (H Lam) – Shortly after the start raced in restricted room for a short distance; Had a tendency lay in in the straight; Commencing the turn out of the straight became unbalanced when racing tight between 9 Glory Moment (K H Yu) and 1 Hand By Hand (C F Wong), both of which shifted ground.
9 Glory Moment (K H Yu) – Shortly after the start raced in restricted room for a short distance; The rider reported that his mount raced very keenly in the early stages and as a result weakened over the concluding stages.
10 Double Success (Apprentice Y M Choi)- Prior to this event Trainer K M Chin notified the Stewards that due to the gelding drawing a wide alley, he would be instructing the rider to settle further back in the field. Jumped away awkwardly, made contact with the outside gate and as a result lost ground; Settled at the rear of the field.

VETERINARY:
4 Final Impression (C F Chan) - A post race veterinary examination of 4 Final Impression of which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
