Race Report

RACE-1 THE SUCCESS RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (163)

1 Diamond Admire (C F Wong) –Raced keenly entering the back straight, was shifted wider on the track to be afforded clear running and as a result took 7 Sharp Spear out off its course.
2 Power Savabeel (A Calder) –Jockey A Calder of rider of 2 Power Savabeel which performed below market expectations explained that the gelding was somewhat one paced, failed to respond to his riding from the 300 metres and in his opinion may not have been suited by the track conditions today. A post race swab sample was taken from the gelding for analysis.
3 Big Success (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Rider reported that the gelding was always under pressure throughout, did not respond to his riding at any stage and could not offer any real explanation for the disappointing performance today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 21st February 2016.
4 Double Up (B Yamzon) –Resaddled prior to the race. Was marginally slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages and as a result was shifted wider on the track near the 1000 metres to obtain clear running and in doing so inconvenienced 1 Diamond Admire. Thereafter raced wide without cover.
5 Rockin Laser (W H Lao) – Over raced in the back straight. Near the 900 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between heels.
6 Golden Commandment (K K Lai) –Was slow to begin.
7 Sharp Spear (W T Pao) –Raced wide before obtaining cover near the 800 metres
9 My Lovely Faye (L Corrales) –Trainer K M Chin advised the Stewards that he would instruct Jockey L Corrales to ride the gelding positively from the barrier. Settled just behind the leaders.
10 Cargo Money (C Perkins) –Dwelt when the gates were released and lost ground.
