Race Report

RACE-1 THE RANCHI RATING 45-15 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (196)

1 Double Heaven (F Henrique) -Was restless in the barriers and was slow into stride.
4 Happy Treasure (Apprentice S Meneanen) -Was slow into stride and blundered. At the 1250 metres was taken in onto 9 Apache Harry by 10 One From Many. Hung out from the 600 metres to the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed that due to the disappointed performance of 4 Happy Treasure he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 29th April 2018 and will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
7 Golden Wealth (W Smith) -Was slow into stride and was bumped by 10 One From Many at the start.
8 Kelson (Y M Choi) -Shortly after the start shifted out and bumped 11 Pearl Delight onto 9 Apache Harry. Jockey Y M Choi was severely reprimanded for insufficient effort to straighten his mount.
9 Apache Harry (B Yamzon) -Shortly after the start was bumped by 11 Pearl Delight which was bumped by 8 Kelson. At the 1250 metres had to steady while 4 Happy Treasure was taken in by 10 One From Many.
10 One From Many (K K Lai) -At the start bumped 7 Golden Wealth. At the 1250 metres shifted in and took 4 Happy Treasure in onto 9 Apache Harry which had to steady. Jockey K K Lai was severely reprimanded for shifting in when not clear. At the 1100 metres over raced and steadied off the heels of 5 Stallion Treasure.
11 Pearl Delight (R Maia) -Shortly after the start was bumped by 8 Kelson and in turn bumped 9 Apache Harry. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance of 11 Pearl Delight, Jockey R Maia said that his mount travelled well, however from the 600 metres began to tire and in the straight was disappointing despite his urgings. He added that it was the gelding’s first race over this distance. Trainer K H Leong explained that the gelding needed a longer race than it raced previously but found 1500 metres race was too far for it. He then added he will bring it back to 1300 metres races.
14 Fantastic Destiny (R B Woodworth) -Was slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
