Race Report

RACE-6 THE LOTUS RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1200 METRES (18)

2 Power Alkhafif (B Yamzon) –Went amiss in the right fore fetlock near the 500 metres and was subsequently humanely euthanized.
3 Bo Bo So Great (W Smith) –On jumping away was tightened by 5 Hanigan and 6 Sure Win, both of which shifted ground; Disappointing; Rider was unable to offer any excuses for the disappointing performance; A post race veterinary examination and swab was ordered by the Stewards.
5 Hanigan (L Salles) –Approaching the 800 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room by 3 Bo Bo So Great (W Smith) which was shifting in when not quite clear. Jockey W Smith Was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstance in the future.
9 Giant Steps (H Lam) –Was slow into stride.
11 River Wave (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Rider K Y Wong was severely reprimanded for failing to claim down to his minimum riding weight. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account his poor record and notified him that should he reoffend in the near future, the Stewards would consider a suspension of his licence. Shifted out abruptly on jumping away unbalancing its rider; Caught three wide without cover throughout; Dipped on a number of occasions in the straight when weakening.

VETERINARY:
3 Bo Bo So Great (W Smith) –A post race veterinary examination of 3 Bo Bo So Great which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
