Race Report

RACE-1 THE GOODWOOD RATING 55-0 (SPECIAL) 1100 METRES (314)

1 Peace Get Lucky (C Perkins) –Shifted in when the gates were released and made contact with 8 Golden Kalbar, as a result became unbalanced. Was held up from the 400 metres and then was again held up when disappointed for a run between 2 Strong Alloy and 3 Show Smart from the entrance into the straight until approaching the 250 metres. Approaching the 200 metres was restrained when close to the heels of 3 Show Smart.
3 Show Smart (W Smith) –Approaching the 50 metres was bumped and taken out off its course by 1 Peace Get Lucky which shifted out from behind 2 Strong Alloy to obtain a clear run. Jockey C Perkins the rider of 1 Peace Get Lucky was reprimanded and notified that he must exercise far more care when shifting ground in future. After passing the 50 metres, when weakening, had to be steadied when 1 Peace Get Lucky shifted out slightly.
4 Beauty Of Victory (L Salles) –Was marginally slow to begin. After passing the 800 metres had to be steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of 8 Golden Kalbar which was taken in slightly by 1 Peace Get Lucky which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey C Perkins the rider of 1 Peace Get Lucky was advised that he must be fully clear when shifting ground at all times. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported in his opinion his mount would be better suited to a firmer track. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken from the gelding for analysis.
5 Full Class (L Corrales) –Disappointing performance. Jockey reported that his mount travelled well, however when placed under pressure near the 500 metres failed to respond to his riding and in his opinion, the gelding did not appreciate the track conditions today. He added that at the entrance into the straight his saddle shifted back, but this did not place him at a disadvantage.
8 Golden Kalbar (R Curatolo) –On jumping away became unbalanced after being bumped by 1 Peace Get Lucky. Jockey R Curatolo was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in whilst making a celebratory gesture after the winning post which resulted in 1 Peace Get Lucky and 2 Strong Alloy both receiving interference.
