Race Report

RACE-2 THE SALVADOR RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1350 METRES (158)

1 Tony Itoldyouso (L Corrales) –Disappointing. Rider reported that his mount after a good beginning, traveled well until the 700 metres and then failed to respond. He added in his opinion the gelding would improve from the run tonight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Lucky And Powerful (D Chong) –Proved very difficult to load. Trainer W H Tse was advised that the gelding would have to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official jump out before it can be entered to race again.
3 Yu Long Glory (C F Chan) –Raced wide without cover.

4 I'm Sincere (C Perkins) –Near the 1200 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed close to heels.
5 Jade Elite (A Calder) –Laid in in the straight.
7 Road To Victory (B Yamzon) –Was slow to begin.
9 God Get People (W T Pao) –Was slow to begin.
12 Glory Moment (C F Wong) –Raced keenly and had a tendency to lay in in the back straight Disappointing. Rider reported his mount gave ground from 200 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident rounding the turn near the 1200 metres in which 2 Lucky And Powerful (D Chong) was checked and lost ground. It was established that at that point 9 God Get People (W T Pao) had improved very quickly to the inside of 2 Lucky And Powerful racing tight against that gelding and was turned slightly. At the same time 1 Tony Itoldyouso (L Corrales) shifted in marginally before being straightened by its rider. Under all the circumstances and as the film footage was inconclusive, the Stewards did not take any direct action however notified L Corrales the rider of 1 Tony Itoldyouso and W T Pao the rider of 9 God Get People that they must exercise the utmost care when in similar circumstances in future.
